Republican, Democrat, or anything in between - Ironworkers are a diverse group with a wide array of opinions. That’s why our union is committed to working with elected officials from all sides to make working people a priority.

Our union gets involved in politics for two reasons — to secure work and to protect workers’ rights on the job.

We rely on pro-worker elected officials that vote for investments to rebuild and replace our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, to protect prevailing wage, to oppose right to work, or to protect our pensions so every Ironworker sees the retirement they’ve earned.

Your vote is your voice and how you vote is your decision. Our union provides the research so you can make an informed choice and vote for who or what matters most to you and your family.

When you vote this November, vote like a Union Ironworker!

Labor standards like Davis Bacon set basic requirements for workers to earn a prevailing wage and give responsible contractors a leg up when it comes to securing work for Ironworkers. Representatives from all parties recently joined together to protect Davis Bacon standards in the CHIPS and Science Act, marking the first effort in decades to set a wage standard that truly benefits workers in the construction industry.

The American Rescue Plan Act provided desperately needed aid to secure struggling multi-employer pension plans, including some of the Iron Workers’. This relief is the first of its kind and has already begun to reverse cuts that retirees accepted when times were tough. Under the law, qualifying plans are protected to ensure Ironworkers receive the retirement benefits we’ve all worked hard for over the course of our careers.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, signed in 2021, is the single largest investment in infrastructure that our nation has ever made. This investment goes beyond the traditional roads and bridges that we’ve come to expect, and Ironworkers are already working on the energy and manufacturing projects that will create good, union jobs for generations to come. A vote for this law is a vote for Ironworkers’ jobs.
